Le Equilibriste 2016: La maternità in Italia

“The equilibrists” is an annual report that analyzes the situation and well-being of mothers in Italy.

In 2015 there were 10 million women in Italy between the ages of 25 and 64 taking care of their children of all ages. 8.7 million of them lived with a spouse or partner (86.1% ), while 1.4 million were single mothers (13.9%).

How do these moms live? How many people, children and elderly do they care for? What difficulties do they encounter in the family and at work? What impact does their economic and social condition have on their children’s education and future? This 2016 report tries to answer these and other important questions.
