This document details both Save the Children’s current perspective on the main protection dangers that children face in an emergency and how to address them. While this document does not aim to provide an all-encompassing strategy, it does provide Save the Children’s alliance members and partners with a clear framework for the protection of children in emergencies by outlining a common definition and approach, programmatic priorities, useful programme examples, and the relevant legal framework and standards. Finally, the document serves as an extensive reference to additional guidelines, tools and other materials useful to practitioners and policy-makers.
