An Executive Summary of the Ombudsman’s report Nº 126 presented to public authorities and actors from civil society, which reveals the difficulties and limitations commonly encountered in cases involving sexual violence against male and female children and adolescents in Peru. The report ‘La aplicación de la justicia penal ante casos de violencia sexual perpetrados contra niñas niños y adolescentes’ analyses the multiple dimensions of the problem of sexual violence and its treatment by the Peruvian criminal justice system. The report includes recommendations to the various levels of the Peruvian justice administration organisms, which could contribute to the improvement of the quality of the criminal justice response to sexual violence against children. The publication of this report was made possible thanks to the collaboration of Save the Children.
