According to the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), schools shall provide all students with conditions for development. That means that all students, regardless of differences in social economic or cultural backgrounds, disabilities or abilities of any sort, have the right to an education that gives them full potential for learning and personal development.
In Sweden, inequality has risen over the past decade. The latest PISA study, presented at the end of 2013, shows a continued trend of decline and that this negatively impacts students who have difficulties in school. This report highlights and reviews those areas that need to change or improve across Sweden’s municipalities. For example: elimination of fees for school activities, access to study support during school hours, etc.
