Save the Children Sweden
Save the Children Sweden (SCS) has been working in Pakistan since 1983 to enhance adherence to the rights of the child, as expressed in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). You are invited to join this journey and read through the Annual Report, which describes the nature of the activities and achievements of SCS and its project partners over the years, and of the progress made in 2009. The Report focuses on the implementation of child rights programmes in Pakistan that seek to: 1. Ensure that all children have access to a functioning child protection system; 2. Establish an effective juvenile justice system; 3. Ensure the inclusion of children from all marginalised groups into mainstream education; 4. Provide survival and rehabilitation support mechanisms to protect children in areas affected by emergencies; 5. Focus on supporting and capacitating civil society to monitor and promote child rights. The Report also shares the experiences and main lessons learnt and provides an overview of the programme support budget for 2009.
