Global Network of Religions for Children
In today’s world, children are exposed to a great amount of violence that damages the dignity of their lives. Conflicts, disasters, poverty and other adverse conditions threaten their very survival and deprive them of their well-being. The Global Network of Religions for Children (GNRC) was established to provide a venue for individuals or organizations working for the good of children to unite and cooperate with one another with the aim of realizing a world where children can grow up in health and freedom. This document gives an overview of GNRC initiatives and the First Forum of the GNRC held in May 2000 in Tokyo, which brought together people of every major world religion to take action for the future of the children of the world.
