The 73-page report, “Isolated and Alone,” by Defense for Children Palestine, examines the arrest, detention, and interrogation practices of Israeli authorities concerning Palestinian children. Covering the period from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2019, the report documents 108 cases of Palestinian children held in isolation for two or more days during interrogations. The findings strongly suggest that this practice, used predominantly during pre-charge and pretrial detention, amounts to torture or cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment under international law.
