Save the Children Norway
Save the Children has identified Investment in Children as one of the global priorities under the thematic area of Child Rights Governance. Investment in Children is being driven forward as a key focus of Save the Children’s efforts to bring about good governance for children and secure more and better public spending on children.
This Strategy for 2014-2017, developed by Save the Children Norway (SCN), sets out the organization’s “investment in children” work across their country programmes. For the period of this strategic plan, SCN will look at all matters affecting children, —education, health, good governance, protection, humanitarian relief and climate change —in an integrated way. A main priority will be effective learning environments in schools and in basic education programmes so that all children attending school – including children exposed to natural hazards, war and conflict – will have the opportunity to learn. In its Strategy, SCN highlights that there are currently far more children around the world attending school and living beyond their fifth birthday than just a few years ago. The trend is moving in the right direction, and more children experience a better start in life. The Millennium Development Goals have been important drivers of these positive achievements and SCN is working to ensure that the post-2015 development goals will provide all children with equal opportunities to develop and live fulfilling lives.
