In 2016, a cohort of 10 global organisations collaborated to produce INSPIRE: Seven strategies for ending violence against children, the first-ever global technical package for preventing and responding to violence against children.

To supplement the technical package, additional tools were developed to guide policy-makers and practitioners in implementing the seven strategies. The first tool, INSPIRE Handbook: Action for implementing the seven strategies, provides detailed programming to guide each strategy.

The second tool included on this page was produced under the leadership of UNICEF with the aim of assisting governments and partners in monitoring progress towards violence-free childhoods. It presents common indicators to be used by governments to track changes in the occurrence of violence and the progress of programmes aimed at preventing violence against children.
