Schools are a popular locus of menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) programming. Although the linkages between addressing MHH in schools and school attendance have been globally emphasised, there is little rigorous evidence. We do know that supporting girls’ self-efficacy, confidence and reducing menstrual-related stress can have an impact on their school experience and performance. This webinar will present innovative approaches that integrate MHM into school-based programming and discuss what and how we should be measuring to assess the impact of our work.
Featured speakers:
Joyce Muthia, ZanaAfrica Foundation and Beth Kangwana, Population Council
Catherine Kansiime, LSHTH/MRC Uganda
In recognition of Save the Children’s growing involvement in programming to address issues related to Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), the School Health and Nutrition (SHN) team, with support from the Child Sponsorship Innovation fund, initiated a series of webinars to focus on best practices and lessons learned around menstrual health and menstrual hygiene management. The goal is to promote evidence-based approaches and practices from global researchers, advocates, and implementers from within the Save the Children team and beyond.
