Independent Human Rights Institutions for Children

This report is a summary from a seminar held in February 2008 in Stockholm. The seminar takes place following discussions held both in Sweden and internationally, about Children’s Ombudsmen as an important part of the follow up of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). The role(s) of the ombudsman is questioned and open to national and international debate. There is a need for a qualified discussion on how Human Rights Institutions for Children / Children’s Ombudsmans’ Offices could develop further, and hopefully this report will invite to further discussions.
