This report captures the harrowing experiences of Sudanese women affected by the conflict that began in April 2023. Through first-hand accounts from over 20 internally displaced and refugee women, the report highlights the immense challenges they face, including violence, exploitation, and separation from family members. Despite these adversities, the stories reveal the women’s remarkable resilience and strength as they take on new roles, start small businesses, establish safe spaces, and set up learning centers for children. The report calls for urgent action to support Sudanese women, including increased funding for local women-led organizations, protection from violence, access to humanitarian aid, and psychosocial support. It emphasizes the need for sustained leadership and equal participation of Sudanese women in governance and peace negotiations, as well as investment in education, employment, and leadership pathways for young Sudanese women to prevent a lost generation.
