The recruitment and use of girls and boys in armed conflict is a grave violation of children’s rights. The emotional and cognitive growth of these children, as well as the structures and policies that support them, are crucial for their human development and the future prospects for their communities. Many children who have been used in armed forces or groups require long-term and sustained reintegration support.
This report is a summary of three papers on reintegration for children who have been used in armed groups, and contains central recommendations on how to best assist these children and their communities.
