Impact of parents’ migration on children left at home

An analysis of the impact of migration on left behind children, which aims to get as clear an idea as possible of the situation of children whose family members go abroad to earn money due to the lack of employment opportunities. The increasing number of children with parents that have left to work abroad outlines a new social phenomenon that Romania is now confronting. The study helps identify the needs of the children that are left behind, their problems and difficulties, and also provides an overview of the current support services for “home alone” children.
