In 2025, Sudan faces an extreme humanitarian crisis, with 30.4 million people needing urgent assistance, including 15.6 million children. The ongoing conflict has led to widespread displacement, acute food insecurity, and collapsing health systems. Over 24 million people face severe food shortages, and 770,000 children are at immediate risk of severe wasting. The health crisis is exacerbated by non-operational facilities and unpaid health workers, leaving millions vulnerable to disease outbreaks. UNICEF’s strategy aims to support critical services for conflict zones, displaced communities, and other vulnerable groups, requiring $1 billion to assist 13.1 million people, including 8.7 million children.
