Situation reports are the main reporting tool to monitor UNICEF’s humanitarian response. They provide an update on the situation and needs of children in a country or region, as well as information on UNICEF’s response and funding requirements.
In 2019, thousands of children continue to enter Europe as they flee from conflict, insecurity, and deprivation in their home countries.
However, for many of these children, the ordeal continues in the countries of arrival, transit, and destination, as they are faced with limited access to health, education, exposure to violence, amongst other issues. This has prevented children from recovering from past traumas and enjoying basic child rights.
This report presents UNICEF’s strategy for migrant children in need of humanitarian assistance in Europe. The document contains targets and results for the year of 2019 in the sectors of Nutrition, Health, Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Child Protection, Education, Gender-Based Violence and Participation.
