The COVID-19 pandemic in Rwanda has led to a redirection of health system resources in order to respond to it. The number of children affected by the socio-economic impacts of the pandemic such as school disruption and heightened protection risk has increased. There is 147,000 refugees – half of these are children – in Rwanda in need of assistance. This appeal describes the challenges faced in Rwanda, and the strategies used by UNICEF to respond to these.
