The population in Nepal is affected by recurrent natural disasters. The capacities of local government to response to needs has been stretched by the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic has also undermined access to education and livelihoods. Many people have lost their jobs and nearly 8 million children were out of school during 2020. This appeal describes the situation in Nepal, and the strategies used by UNICEF to respond to these.
