This chapter provides practical advice and examples of how to integrate Disaster Risk Reduction into Save the Children programs. The chapter discusses how Disaster Risk Reduction can be incorporated within each of the pillars of the Comprehensive School Safety Framework. It examines the risks, enablers, blockers, inclusion of vulnerable groups and the possible interventions that can be included within projects across each of the five Disaster Risk Reduction categories: Early Warning System, Preparedness, Disaster Mitigation, Disaster Resilience, and Adaptation. This chapter should be considered when education advisors and program managers integrate Disaster Risk Reduction into emergency response program design.
