Released as part of UNICEF’s #ENDviolence global initiative, this report presents aggregated data from a number of internationally comparable survey programmes. Drawing on data from 190 countries, it represents the largest compilation of statistics to date on violence against children.
Emphasis is placed on explaining how violence can impact a child’s development, whatever the type of violence inflict, its duration, or the age of the victim.
Besides presenting and explaining statistical findings from the data, this report also introduces the challenges – methodological, programmatic, administrative, etc. – of collecting data on violence against children, which can be influential in future statistical projects.
