This report is an account of the activities and results of Save the Children’s Helpline acting in support of migrant children arriving in Italy. It highlights the project’s challenges, results and future potential.
The reference point to clarify the impact of the Helpline on the social fabric, both local and national, is Law No. 47/2017, a new regulation strongly desired by Save the Children, born from direct experience in the field alongside migrant children and supported by all the most authoritative organizations in the matter of protection of human rights, which was approved by the Chamber of Deputies on March 29th and came into force on April 7th 2017.
The report is structured on the basis of the main issues that gravitate around the lives of migrant children who have arrived in Italy and are governed by Law 47/2017.
