Save the Children South Africa
The South African Government has a duty to report to the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) on its progress to ensure that all children in South Africa enjoy their rights as stated in the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child. However, South African children generally do not know about the African Charter or the responsibilities of the government.
This report is directed to the ACERWC regarding the implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child in South Africa. It was created through a child participatory approach and provides key recommendations for the realization of children’s rights in South Africa.
The child-friendly version of this report can be found here.
