Equity is the absence of unfair, avoidable or remediable differences among groups of people, whether those groups are defined socially, economically, demographically, or geographically or by other dimensions of inequality. Health equity is achieved when everyone can attain their full potential for health and well-being. (WHO)
Save the Children’s Department of Global Health (DGH) has developed the following framework to show how DGH conceptualizes health equity and is contributing to reducing health inequities at national, subnational, and local levels in the countries in which it works.
