Save the Children US
This is a summary report of the situation in Haiti four years after the 2010 earthquake and following cholera outbreak that decimated the population, government, and infrastructure in countless ways.
Save the Children has worked in Haiti for over 30 years. Today, they continue to concentrate their expertise in three program areas where they can make the greatest impact for children and their still-vulnerable families: health and nutrition, education, and child protection.
From 2014, Save the Children will work hand-in-hand with the government to strengthen health systems in the North through an approach which combines results-based financing for health facilities with the tools to achieve health outcomes. This report also describes plans and goals being made in the remaining program areas of education and child protection to strengthen local and governmental capacities to provide for the needs of children in these areas.
