This guide provides guidance on how to represent members of all subgroups of a society in teacher and learning materials in equitable and non-stereotyplical ways. The guide can be used to evaluate existing teaching and learning materials across primary and secondary levels or inform the development of new materials. For example, there should be equal frequency of representations, meaning characters from different subgroups in society should appear with the same proportional frequency as they do in the population. This guide is meant for education advisors and material development specialists.
