Celebrating nearly 50 years of operations, the Bernard van Leer Foundation publishes this issue of Early Childhood Matters as a reflection on the advances made over those past five decades on early education care and development.
The first half of this issue provides a collection of articles on a range of topics pertaining to the child’s early development. From the latest studies on early brain development to a study of home visiting in Jamaica, the needs of the child are in focus. The second section focuses on the scaling of services, capacity building, research, etc. as a means of reaching more children in need with proven, quality-assured programming.
