As a result of a number of major crises, approximately 100 million people were forced to flee their homes during the last decade, seeking refuge either within or outside the borders of their country. During the end of 2019, the number of forcibly displaced persons reached an all-time high. Data shows that 40 percent of these persons were children.
This report presents statistics on forced displacement during 2019. It also includes country-specific reports and estimates, and presents the way forward. All Global Trends reports can be found on UNHCR’s website.
