This report presents the progress countries have made in implementing the recommendations of the 2002 World Report on Violence and Health. It also discusses the impacts of violence, deaths being only a fraction of the health and social burden arising from violence.
WHO and its partners have reviewed scientific studies which demonstrate that violence is preventable. In this report, they present seven strategies for preventing violence and improving response efforts. These strategies are viewed to have the potential to reduce multiple types of violence and help decrease the likelihood of individuals perpetrating violence or becoming a victim.
