Save the Children
The 1995 Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action established a global blueprint for achieving gender equality and was the first international instrument to recognise the unique potential and rights abused faced by the girl child. The Generation Equality process will take forward the promises made under this agreement and set the agenda for gender equality through newly Geestablished multi-sectoral action coalitions. To accelerate much needed, sustainable progress, adolescent girls and ending child marriage must be at the centre of Generation Equality process. This brief sets out Save the Children’s recommendations, including SMART targets and recommendations specific to processes and individual Action Coalitions.
