Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) Endline Quantitative Findings (Lebanon, 2026)

This endline assessment evaluated the Food Security and Nutrition (FSN) outcomes of the SUBUL consortium’s Cash Plus Nutrition Assistance intervention among 579 matched households in Akkar, West Bekaa, and Beirut/Mount Lebanon, Lebanon. Findings show significant improvements in household food security and dietary diversity between baseline and endline. The proportion of households with acceptable Food Consumption Scores increased from 33.9% to 48.4%, while dietary diversity improved substantially among both children and women. Severe food poverty among children declined from 50.3% to 17.1%, and among women from 45.7% to 17.5%. Child nutritional status also improved modestly, as reflected by increased average MUAC measurements. However, persistent challenges remain, including geographic disparities—particularly in West Bekaa—continued reliance on market purchases and credit for food access, and declining nutritional status among pregnant women. Overall, the intervention contributed to improved food consumption and diet quality, but sustained efforts are needed to address maternal nutrition risks and ongoing household vulnerability.
