Fixing a Broken System: Transforming global education financing

This report explores recent trends in global education financing and explains how growing debt burdens across low- and lower middle-income countries are restricting governments’ abilities to adequately invest in children’s education. This is a particularly urgent issue given the intersecting triple crises of Covid-19, conflict and climate change – all of which are, and will continue to, negatively impact education funding and access for millions of children around the world. The report includes a call to action for governments and international development partners to improve education funding and progress towards universal access to resilient education systems.
