The project is to pilot the newly endorsed education Common Approach – Building Brains (BB) – in five communes in Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province, Vietnam. This intervention is designed to: 1) build the capacity of male and female caregivers to provide responsive care and early stimulation for their young children; 2) build the capacity of service providers to support caregivers in adopting and maintaining responsive care and early stimulation behaviours; and 3) create an enabling environment that promotes and supports caregivers’ practices of responsive care and early stimulation.
The primary purposes of this final evaluation are (1) to evaluate the three-year project according to evaluation criteria Relevance, Efficiency, Effectiveness, Impact, Sustainability, Replicability and scale, and Design improvement. (2) to understand the factors influencing the achievement or non-achievement of the project objectives, and (3) to provide lessons learnt and recommendations for future works. The final evaluation results also will be exploited as advocacy evidence for the next project phase and in other advocacy activities of SCI.
