Filipino Children at the Margins of Development: The Philippine NGO Coalition Monitoring Report on the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child

This report provides supplementary information on the Philippines third and fourth periodic reports on the implementation of the CRC covering the period 2001-2007. The State Party’s compliance to the UN CRC is constrained by its insistence to allocate a large portion of its budget to debt payments, taking away funds to ensure that the Philippines meets the Millennium Development Goals on poverty, health and education. Policies to export labour attract more foreign investment and aggressive promotion of tourism puts children at risk for abuse and exploitation. This report covers the period 2001-2007.
