Families Connect Spring 2017 Evaluation Summary

Families Connect is a newly developed programme designed by Save the Childre UK to support parents and carers to enhance their child’s learning at home and in school. The programme recognises the role parents play in the education of children and the value of creating a stimulating home environment conducive to learning.

The findings from the Spring 2017 term shows that the programme had a positive impact on participating families’ lives at home and in school. At the end of the 8 weeks of the programme, children were reported to experience less difficulties at school and in the home (such as hyperactivity and other emotional difficulties) and parents reported increased engagement and self-esteem. These findings were confirmed by qualitative teacher feedback on the impact of the programme on participating families.
