A partnership review is an important part of a truly developmental partnership: it ensures that one or both parties deliver on their commitments and learn and change as the partnership progresses. The process is best facilitated by a Partnership Adviser/Staff or similar unit with cross-cutting functions in order to ensure neutrality and mutuality in the process.
This facilitator guide provides ideas and suggestions on how a partnership review could look like. It is a tool as well as a set of suggestions and ideas that should not be seen as a manual to be followed chronologically and applied in any context with any partner. There is no one way of working with partners or organizations. Therefore, the facilitator needs to look at the specific situation and the type and capacity of the partner and partnership in choosing which elements of this guide to include in the process.
