Between 10 and 20 percent of the population in Spain have suffered some kind of sexual abuse as a child. Faced with this unquestionable statistic, the most common questions are not: “How is this possible?” or “What has gone wrong?”, but rather: “Is that figure right? Isn’t that a bit of an exaggeration?”
In this report, by compiling several cases, analysing documents, and interviewing experts in the matter, Save the Children Spain attempts to provide an answer to how public administrations failures are possible when a case arises of the sexual abuse of a child or adolescent.
