Save the Children
The protection of children and adolescents against suffering during the justice process is a right guaranteed by the international rule approved by the United Nations on the questioning of child and adolescent victims and witnesses of violence and crimes. This document, commissioned by Save the Children and written by Ana María Castañeda (Peru), centres on the need to improve the practices for taking testimony from children and adolescents in the justice process to prevent revictimization. It aims to be a useful tool in the preparation and training of operators of the judicial system who, in the context of their work, are in contact with child victims and witnesses of crime or are responsible for addressing the needs of children within the justice system.
