Somalia has among the highest global rates of child wasting, with 1.7 million children projected to be acutely malnourished in 2024. MUAC is often used for community screening due to ease of use and low cost but may significantly underestimate the true burden of malnutrition compared to WHZ. This study investigates diagnostic performance and concordance between MUAC, MUACZ, and WHZ among children in two high-wasting regions: Bay and Hiran.
