EveryChild Moldova’s Programme Experience: Improving Children’s Lives Through Deinstitutionalisation

This Programme Review documents the evolution of the EveryChild (EvC) Programme since 1994, presenting the development of interventions to improve the lives of children through deinstitutionalisation and identifying the best practices and lessons that may be relevant, useful and replicable to other initiatives and organisations around the world. It investigates and documents the programmatic approach to deinstitutionalisation as a model of good practice. It makes recommendations for stakeholders in Moldova toward achieving the closure of all institutions for children in the country by building on the country’s work to date and including the practices modelled by EvC. The report is intended to be a resource for programme managers, project workers and authors initiating or participating in the design and implementation of programmes and projects aiming to improve children’s lives through deinstitutionalisation.
