Evaluation Report Global Hunger Crisis: Cash for Nutrition

This evaluation assessed whether combining MPCA with the MAMI Care Pathway improved nutritional risk factors among infants under six months and their mothers compared with the MAMI Care Pathway alone. A quasi-experimental longitudinal panel design was used to analyze the MAMI programme data (anthropometry, behavioral indicators etc.) collected during the MAMI assessment (baseline) and the last follow-up at six months of age, called in this document as discharge (endline). Of 537 infants screened with complete information at baseline, 112 had complete anthropometric measurements at both time points (91 MAMI-only; 21 MAMI + MPCA). Changes in infant growth indicators (WAZ, WLZ) were analyzed using baseline-adjusted multivariable regression models controlling for baseline nutritional status, infant age, sex, and follow-up duration. Additional descriptive analyses examined breastfeeding practices, maternal nutritional status, maternal mental wellbeing, and household food security.
