LENS is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) McGovern Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program (MGD). To achieve these goals SC, the program implementer, has partnered with the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Nutrition (Ministerio de Agricultura Ganadería y Alimentación – MAGA).

The LENS evaluation seeks to provide quantitative and qualitative evidence on the impact of school feeding programs on child education outcomes. The evaluation also aims to address key research questions from the McGovern-Dole Learning Agenda, including: (1) in what ways do the combination of school meal interventions and educational interventions improve education and literacy levels? And (2) what kinds of partnerships with the private sector and/or host country governments are the most effective at ensuring program sustainability? More specifically, in this midline report we address questions on the program relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and impact.
