An evaluation of The Inter-agency Child Protection Information Management System ( IMS), including lessons learned since its inception and what the project must look like to be successful in the future. The IMS was set up to improve the quality of child protection programmes in emergencies, and to quicken different agencies’ responses to children’s needs. Overall, this evaluation found that the IMS has had a positive impact on emergency child protection programmes by encouraging better co-ordination and collaboration amongst agencies. But the evaluation has also shown significant gaps in agencies’ understanding of key aspects of the purpose and benefit of the IMS, and in some key aspects of emergency child protection programming.
