Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children
The Global Initiative to End All Corporal Punishment of Children was launched in 2001 and since then a great many changes and advances have been made in changing attitudes and securing protection of child rights in the world.
This evaluation of the Global Initiative, which took place between January and March 2015, is intended to inform further progress towards universal prohibition and elimination of violent punishment of children and effective advocacy on children’s rights, including their right to protection from all forms of punishment.
The evaluation concludes with recommendations regarding a continuation of proven, effective advocacy and ways of working, and further development of existing practices and suggested new practices, subject to success in attracting additional resources.
