The ESA Cash & Voucher Assistance (CVA) Capacity Statement 2026 outlines Save the Children’s approach to delivering cash support across a region facing rapidly growing humanitarian needs. Crisis levels have intensified, particularly due to the conflict in Sudan—the world’s largest humanitarian emergency—which is driving displacement across neighbouring countries. At the same time, droughts, floods, cyclones, and El Niño impacts continue to disrupt livelihoods and deepen vulnerability across East and Southern Africa.
CVA plays a key role in our response, enabling families to meet their basic needs in a flexible and dignified way while supporting local economies. Alongside immediate assistance, we focus on strengthening resilience and adapting responses to evolving risks.
