Envisioning the Grand Bargain: Documenting the child protection area of responsibility’s approach to localisation from 2017-2019

The Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR) within the Global Protection Cluster (GPC) is the international forum for the coordination of child protection in humanitarian settings. Despite commitments and certain successes at the 2016 World Humanitarian Summit and subsequent Grand Bargain, there remains a lack of significant progress to shift child protection resources and power to the hands of local actors. 

This is an assessment of CP AoR’s approach to localization from 2017 to 2020. It finds that the CP AoR has become a leader in advancing the localization agenda through humanitarian coordination.
