Enhancing Filipino K-12 Learners’ Green Skills, Awareness, Competencies and Conceptual Understanding Using YES-O Learning Modules (Philippines, 2025)

The codesigned YES-O Learning Modules are highly effective supplemental materials that significantly enhance green skills awareness, competencies, and conceptual understanding among K-12 learners. Integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDGs 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 13 (Climate Action), 14 (Life Below Water), and 15 (Life on Land) within the YES-O Modules aligns education with global environmental challenges and prepares students for a green economy. The intervention using YES-O modules led to statistically significant improvements in learners’ posttest scores across elementary, junior high, and senior high levels with significance at p < 0.001 (α = 0.05). The modules address prior misconceptions on green skills and environmental sustainability, improve student engagement, and can function as self-learning kits, particularly useful even with minimal teacher facilitation.
