The Vietnam Sponsorship Program (VSP) in Lao Cai Province, initiated by Save the Children, aimed to enhance education, health, and child protection for over 94,000 students across five rural districts. This endline evaluation, conducted in early 2024, highlights the program’s significant achievements in improving school readiness, literacy skills, and children’s physical and mental health. Key findings include the program’s operational efficiency, sustainability through capacity building, and strong commitment to gender equality and social inclusion. The VSP’s integration of educational tools into regular professional development programs ensures long-term impact, making it a model for improving educational quality in similar contexts. The evaluation underscores the importance of continued support for child-led initiatives, safe school models, and comprehensive career orientation services.
