Ending Open Defecation in Laos: Program and Policy Recommendations from the USAID Nurture Project to Increase Household Toilet Use

This brief provides an overview of USAID Nurture water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) activities in Laos aimed at increasing and sustaining household WASH targets while also working to achieve community open defecation free status in support of the national strategy to achieve 100 percent open defecation free (ODF) by 2025. It presents key programmatic findings and recommendations for strengthening future sanitation efforts in Lao PDR to achieve national sanitation and nutrition objectives.
