Ending Malnutrition for Every Last Child in Nigeria

Nigeria has the second-largest economy in Africa, yet its benefits have not been shared fairly. Approxiamtely 55% of all children in the country are malnurished, totalling the highest number in Sub-Saharan Africa. Those in Northeastern Nigeria are especially vulnerable because of the extreme gender equality in the region (restricting women’s movement, access to resources, etc).  80% of child deaths happen in the home without access to health services. Moreover, the problem is further exasperated by the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency and the climate in the Sahel region pushing children into malnutrition during the “hunger months.”
