Enabling Environments for Eliminating Female Genital Mutilation

The policy brief evaluates to what extent the UN Member States and their cross-country contexts partners have been able to prevent and respond to female genital mutilation through an implemented comprehensive and multisectoral approach.

The influence of COVID-19 on female genital mutilation prevention and response program is also outlined in the policy brief. Furthermore a framework is presented providing strategic guidance to lawmakers, policymakers and all stakeholders, bringing forward their dedication to addressing female genital mutilation through a comprehensive and multisectoral approach. The framework also supports a wider country level accountability concerning these dimensions.
